Weekend, where did you go?(Stream-of-consciousness)

I really feel like this weekend has been on fast forward. We pretty much just laid around the house on Saturday, instead of going to the hubby's church like we usually do, because Grace has a bad runny nose and a slight cough, and in my better judgement, decided that it would be best to stay in. So, instead of going out, I made a big pot of potato soup(which is so yummy and low in points, for those that are interested. Comment and I might post the recipe) which we ate on all weekend, and then some grilled chicken tenders, and we had a great lunch. Then, Doug got Grace down for her nap, and the rest of the time just flew.

Today, Doug's dad was over the entire day working on getting the garage organized and ready to bring all the junk back from the storage unit that we have been renting since September. That $84 has better places to go... :) So, again... the day kind of flew. I heated up the leftover soup for the guys, and was getting Gracie ready to go over to her Granparents for the evening. However, because the guys were slow about getting ready to take Grace to Grandma, by the time they tried to get her ready, she started crying and said that she wanted mommy... which, for some reason, she has been doing that a lot lately. I feel a little guilty about it because honestly, Doug and I were fighting a lot over the holidays, which I have mentioned before, and in those fights, I left to get some air, and since then, she has been a little clingy. It could also be that she is just with me all the time, and just is attatched. Either way... I feel kind of bad about this. She also is in a stage where only I can put her to bed at night, which is straining things a little bit, but I don't mind... I like that she wants me. She used to only let daddy put her to bed, so I enjoy it. It makes me think about MckMama's post a few weeks or so ago I'm gonna miss this. So, when Gracie is crying after me, or acting a little clingy, and my first thought is, 'I'm tired', or 'Can't daddy put you to bed?', I quickly remind myself that, I am going to miss this. The runny noses, the wet pull-ups(yes... still dealing with potty training...), and the smart little "Fine... fine, Mommy!'s" that I have been getting.... I remind myself that, it was just yesterday that I was a little girl, and time really does slip away that fast.

One last thing... I am soooooo frustrated, and can't WAIT to get this stupid computer fixed!!! I need to update my 365 pictures!!! I just can't wait any more... I think I will be uploading some pics at my parents tomorrow, and will burn them on cd's so I can just update and not get behind anymore. Hopefully, will have my computer back to normal in a week or so! :)

Update...

Well, I have a ton of pictures to share, and I can't get them on my computer! ARGH!!!! The closest I can do is add a picture from my cell phone, which I will at the end here, but first, let me fill you in on a few things.

First, I have started back to Weight Watchers... which I can't remember if I actually mentioned that, but anyways- I started 2 weeks ago this past Thursday and I am down(drumroll please!)....

12.2 lbs!!!!

Let me be the first to say... WOO HOO!!!! Yes... I am a little excited! It is a great start and I am hoping to just keep up the pace. I feel good... well, better anyway.

Second, my computer is definitely having a few problems. It started last week, my card reader and USB ports all stopped working, which is why I can't share pictures, and then, the tech I called said that it was my hard drive, and that I needed to back everything up... IMMEDIATELY! Well, I did not have an external drive, so I went(before I realized that none of my USB ports were working) and bought an External hard drive and then of course that didn't work. So... for the last 3 days I have been working like crazy to save everything onto CD's and DVD's. And let me tell you... I have a LOT of pics on my computer, but thank goodness I have been able to save everything, so far. From now on... I backup EVERYTHING!!! And... if you need a backup hard drive, Best Buy has a TeraByte size hard drive on sale for $99! Great deal... trust me! So, after 3 days of playing phone tag with the company that is taking care of my computer, I finally got a really nice guy(who, by the way, was seriously flirting with me... really funny!) who, after I explained the entire story, said that it sounded like it was not my hard drive, but instead... my motherboard, which, by the way, my daddy, the former IBM'r, said in the beginning of all of this. Thanks dad! :)

Finally... here are a few pictures... that I just have to share with you!

Doug's church had a kids costume party last weekend... and here is the cutest Super Girl you will ever see(and, I did not take this picture... sorry it is the best I have right now til I can upload my pics!). And, the little Brown's cheerleader is my niece Carly Mae!

And here she is today... at Chick Fil A, pouting after I had to put her in time out. It worked out nice that no other kids were there and so I just made her stay in there instead of her throwing a fit(which she never does!).

And... here is a very precious 3 month old, who is teething so bad that I literally have to keep a bib on him every second, otherwise... he would soak his clothes completely!!! :) And yes... those cheeks are very kissable! :)

Hope everyone is doing well... BTW, would anyone be interested in winning a Pamper Me Pretty gift basket, put together by me? Hmmm.... comments needed!!!!

"How is this helping?", you may ask... well... 1/3 cup of these delicious, decadent treats are so rich and yummy, it satisfies the craving of needing that chocolate! And... I am down 12.6 lbs, so it is working for me.

That amazing story I was speaking of...

Remember the other day when I was telling you that there was an amazing story that I had to tell you about. Well... tonight is the night! :)

This is my aunt Cathy.

This... is her really cool family!

My aunt Cathy is just 5 1/2 years older than I am. She is basically like my big sister... we practically grew up together. All my life I have looked up to her. She is one of my best friends. Her children are practically my nieces and nephews! I love them very much! Her husband Dave is such a sweet guy. He is so good to her and her children, whom he considers his own. They are both faithful Christians, living day by day, and paycheck to paycheck... as most of us are. They have been married five years this past December.

Ok, so getting to the amazing story...

About 3 weeks ago, we had a snow storm. It got really cold here. That is when their furnace decided that it was going to stop working. As you can imagine... as 2 working parents of 5 kids, a bum furnace is the last thing that you need to be paying for right now.

Well, this past weekend, after getting home from her youngest sons basketball game, they got a call from her friend she works with, Lois. That evening, they had been to dinner with a family friend that they have known for years. Somehow Lois got to talking about Cathy and her family. In the conversation they casually mentioned to the guy that their furnace went out right before that snow storm a few weeks back and that they have no heat and are heating their house with space heaters. They also mentioned the fact that my aunt and her husband and family are good Christian's and such a sweet family. Out of the blue... the guy who is very well off, said that he wanted to buy them a new furnace! He said that if she would to contact the 2 best furnace people in the city, get estimates, make sure that they would guarantee their work, and he would send the check over the next day!

This was Saturday evening... and this evening... I got a text message from my aunt saying that they have a brand spanking new furnace in their house, and they are toasty warm!

Seriously... can you believe that? It just goes to prove... when you have faith that everything is going to be alright, God shows you it really is.

God is so good all the time! Praise Him!

January 20, 2010! Where has this time gone? I truly have no idea...

I am in awe of just how sweet this boy is! Tonight, we went to Doug's parents house for dinner and Jack was just so sweet. Doug's mom was talking to him, and Jack's face just lit up! He smiles all the time!

He has made a few giggle noises, but haven't had a full on belly laugh just yet. He does tell his momma that he is "goooood" though. He has also spoken his first word... "HI"! LOL! Of course, Doug was holding him and he just made a noise that sounded like "hi", but of course daddy swears up and down that he is a genius... and who am I to argue!

Jack looks just like his momma... and I will scan some pictures to prove it. His eyes are kind of hard to tell still... some days they look kind of brownish, but other days they look bluish... so, I am still hoping they go brown all the way, but am kind of doubting it right now. My mom said that they remind him of her mom's, my mammaw Johnson, but only time will tell.

He loves his sister... he smiles whenever he sees her or she is holding him. It is so cute how she says... "Oh, Jack... you are so cute!" I promise to try to get it on video, because it will just melt your heart.

I am not sure how much he weighs yet... I will be taking him to the Dr next week. Looking forward to seeing... I will update this post as soon as I know.

Well... that is about it for now... I am sure there are a million other words that I could use to describe just how much I am in love with this little fella, but for now... I will just leave you with another picture of my little darling...

Just a thought...

Hey there friends!

I have been wanting to do another giveaway, since my blogoversary is coming up in 99 days! So... here is what I want to do(and I am kind of borrowing this from In the Tiger Den..... ), when I get to 35 "Friends"(aka, follow me), I will have a giveaway! Not too much to say... Today was a pretty good day. Gracie spent the entire day in a pair of panties(instead of a pull-up) and only had a problem when she took a nap in the late afternoon, and had an accident, which... in hindsight, was my fault. I should have put a pull-up on her before her nap, but I had been fighting with her for about 2 hours to take a nap at that point and basically just was thankful she had fallen asleep.

Jack, he is such a sweet baby. He is such a happy baby these days, but he is very attatched to his momma, and don't get me wrong... I am not complaining, but it is making it a little difficult for daddy to get him asleep these days. I am still nursing him as much as I can(he is still not getting a lot from me, but like the Dr said, some is better than none). With Grace, I stopped nursing(because I wasn't producing anything) at 2 months with Grace. I am very thankful that I am able to nurse, no matter what amount it is.

So... that is a brief update... will try to make a longer post about them later. :)
