Going back…

So, it is no surprise that I am a seriously nostalgic person. I love to reminisce about the past and sometimes get a bit teary eyed when doing this. I have a pretty good memory, so it is not hard for me to recall things from the past.

I can remember as far back as when I was 3 years old begging my mom and dad for a Wonder Woman Barbie doll!

I remember being 3, almost 4, and living in North Carolina for a few months while my dad was on temporary assignment with his work.

Being 5 years old and swinging with my new friend on the swing’s during recess in Kindergarten (by the way… this person also happens to be Firewife!!!). Yep… we have known each other for that long!

So, last night, I was hit with a feeling of nervous anticipation when I went back to my old High School for my niece’s Kindergarten graduation. When I walked in the doors of that building, it was as if no time had passed. Everything was (almost) all the same. There were a few changes made, but for the most part… the same. The changes were small, but noticeable, all the same.

These halls hold a lot of memories for me and my friends… we walked these halls and ran these halls for so long that we never thought that we would get out… and once we did, just like everyone said, there are days I truly wish I could get that time back. Pause it. And just… soak it in.

I guess I am kind of writing this for those kids that are graduating this year, who are probably just itching to grow up, and what I would say to them is… take your time. Being a grown up is not all it is cracked up to be. There are more and more days lately that I wish I were back in my old bedroom at my parents house, sleeping in  my big old waterbed(yes!… I had a waterbed!!!), and having sleepover’s with my friends.

Now, don’t get me wrong… I love my life(most days). And I love my family(all days!!!). But, to be able to go back, and relive some of it, and maybe do a few things different… I would.

So in closing… (does this sound like a commencement address? Ha ha!)… I will leave you with this… a few pics from my nieces kindergarten graduation! Smile Have a great day!

Grace’s new outfit!

I am sooooo excited to share this adorable outfit that my cousin made for Grace recently. She just began sewing and doing embroidery recently and she is hoping to start a small Etsy business, eventually, to be able to make some extra money and stay at home with her little boy.

The outfit that she made for Grace is ADORABLE and I can’t wait to actually put it on her and get pics of her wearing it, but until then, here are the pics that my cousin posted on her facebook page. I borrowed them, with her permission.

Precious, right???

If you would like to see more, comment on this post and I will see if I can add more pics of her handiwork in an upcoming post! Smile Thanks!

Back from….

No where really… I guess, a self imposed hiatus. It has been a strange few months, but I am think I am finally starting to feel back to myself.

I want to say, thank you to all of my wonderful blogging friends that have stuck in there and not dropped me from their reading list! I love you all!

So… (I know you have missed my dot, dot, dots! ha ha!) I thought that I would start my re-entrance into blogging by sharing a few silly pics of my beautiful babies!

Grace is now closer to 4 than she is 3(although… I promise, she acts like she is 16 some days!)! I can’t believe that at all!!! Where has the time gone? She is such a smart little girl. She loves to play, and chase our dog Honey around the house. She is very girly, but can still keep up with her cousin Ian. She has developed a serious love for… wait for it… the Power Rangers! I have no idea what made her even want to watch the new Ranger’s show on Nickelodeon, but she is addicted to them! She promises that Jaden(the red Power Ranger) is her favorite and I even asked her if he was her boyfriend(just joking about it…) and she said yes(which her daddy did not like at all!). She also declared Red as her new favorite color, along with pink and blue, of course!

Here are a few more pics that my mom took a week ago while they were having “Tea” in the back yard in my brother’s camo tent.

And… then, there is Jack.

As you can see… he is driving already! Ha ha! It probably feels that way, since it has been so long since I have updated! :)

Actually… he is a very lively, rambunctious boy. He is a little over 18 months now and for about the last 3 weeks, he has been climbing out of his bed, on a pretty regular basis. We even had to take down his baby bed and put Grace’s old bed up, turn it around so the higher back was on the outside, and put up a baby gate to keep him in it. He is too smart though… he knows how to knock down the stinking gate!

He is very sweet and so smiley… most days.

We finally gave him his first hair cut…

It was LONG overdue…

Grace and Jack are at such cute ages… but looking at them just remind me that they are not little babies anymore… they are my sweet little toddler and big girl! And so far… they love each other(and the dog!) very much!

Sorry…. I know there are a lot of pics! I will try to tone it down next time! Smile
